I have the honor to enclose herewith copies of two

letters received from Hong Kong, memorandum referring to the

Senior Clerk and list of his duties, and beg respectfully

to ask that the necessary application may be made to the

General Post Office.

2. The Senior Clerk draws $150 a month with

exchange compensation and $45 a month lodging allowance.
